| WOW IT SEEMS IVE BEEN A LITTLE SLACK ON MY UPDATES IM VERY SORRY BUT THIS WEEKEND WAS THE LAST RACE OF THE YEAR. This year has been a huge learning curve for sure. You can't start the year on top, only work to get better. There is always next year and in the end FUN is what you are supposed to have. Well this year actually in retrospect has been a good year after its over and I've looked at the results. Though I struggled with a car I couldn't get to work, had to borrow a car for a few weeks because I needed to build a new one and then try to get the new one to work, for me finding sponsors was a chore and the time to do all of this while working was both frustrating and exhilarating at the same time. Saturday night started out in a mess, I almost missed my first heat race because I got the order mixed up for the races. The second heat race the car order got mixed up because someone pulled out but in the 40 LAP FEATURE I FINALLY GOT ON THE PODIUM I FINISHED THIRD(3.) Which to most people Isn't a big deal but with all I've gone through this year it was just as good as first maybe better. Thanks to Ron Therring for keeping me in my car as he monkied with my tires and didn't tell me what he did until later and for the advice to get around certain people. I was extremely tired after. I was the only one on the podium whos never been there in a feature event. So here are the stats for the year: So over all not a bad year for an old guy lol. I wish to thank EVERY SPONSOR AND EVERYONE WHO HELPED OUT THIS YEAR AND MOST OF ALL TO RON AND LORETTA THIERING OF HORIZON MOTORSPORTS BECAUSE WITH OUT THEM WE WOULD HAVE NO PLACE TO RACE. Congrats to Erica Thiering for her back to back track championships and her NASCAR Whelen Provincial Championship and her Top 50 NASCAR Whelen Finish good going Girl!!!! 2009 is going to be an awesome year it will be Edmonton International Raceways 40th anniversary and Ron and Lorettas 16th year at the helm as promoters who wants to miss out on that ! As for my goal for my church as this is what I've been racing for all year I'm kinda shy of my goal I will be looking for donations until mid Nov. and will be more than happy to accept all donations for the New Hope Community Church Building Fund. This is going to be an exciting, Alberta Nascar racing season at Edmonton International Raceway (EIR) in Alberta for the "New Hope Community Church"
The objective of New Hope Racing for the 2008 racing season is to use Alberta motor sports as a method to raise awareness and funds for the "New Hope Community Church" building fund, racing Nascar at the EIR.The racecar will not be financially supported by the church as sponsorship from outside sources will be searched for the entire season. We will also be doing a donation drive for the building fund.
Other than for racing at the track the car can be made available to the sponsors for showing at there place of business, special events, or any event that will give exposure to the church and church building fund.
As a racer it is also part of our duty to also promote our local race track EIR and to promote local Alberta motor sports.
To ensure that we can meet the requirements of racing in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series at EIR we must look for sponsors of all types, anyone any business can sponsor a race car. This is a great form of advertising for our sponsors not only at the track where the spectators see the cars, but what is on them which is your LOGO. There is also the travel to and from the track or to a sponsors place of business, special events, Car shows, parades and wherever we can help the sponsors who help us.
There are many things involved with keeping a team operating for an entire season.
These are as follows:
- Entry of car, driver and 1 pit crew approx $60 per event
- Fuel 20L per event, double feature evenings 40L
- Tires and wheels
- Use of a trailer for the season
- Engine / transmission, repair, rebuild, replace
- Body, Replacement panels, frame repair, painting
- Decals and numbers 4 sets
- Use of Facility to work on cars
- Tools
- Replacement cars, parts
- Safety Equipment, fire extinguisher 5lb, window net
- 5point harness, racing seat and cover
- Cage; metal bending, welding, prefab roll bar x2, steel purchases
Donations to the New HopeCommunityChurchBuilding Fund.
If you wish to consider making a donation to our building fund we would be pleased in accepting all donations for our cause. That is why we are racing.
NO DONATION WILL BE USED FOR OPERATING THE RACE TEAM

New Hope Community Church will be holding a Sponsors and Donators appreciation BBQ date to be determined. fans are ofcourse welcome to attend.

- The year end Banquet and Awards held Nov 22 08 At the Fantasyland Hotel West Edmonton Mall
- Track Champion invited to NASCAR Whelen Awards Banquet Held at the MandalayBayResort Las VegasNV.
- National Champion invited to the official NASCAR Banquet and Awards Ceremony in New York
- Donators do get appreciated also
- All donations made over $50.00 will receive 4 tickets to Alberta Nscar Edmonton International Raceway which can be used on any race date
A receipt for all donations over $10.00 will be mailed to you if you desire one
